Form 1099-PATR – This form is used to report taxable distributions received from cooperatives. Cooperatives use this form to report how much they paid each person in patronage dividends.
When You Need to File 1099-PATR
- For each person, you paid at least $10 in patronage dividends and/or other distributions
- For each person from whom you withheld, without refunding, any federal income tax on the basis of backup withholding rules
- There is no minimum requirement for this; you must file regardless of the amount of the payment
Form 1099-PATR Deadlines 2020
Forms must be transmitted to the IRS before the deadline. The due date for eFiling for Form 1099-PATR is March 31. If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, it will be due the next business day.
