Before you e-file 990-T, here is a list of information you’d need.
Tax1099 is designed for tax professionals who handle multiple clients and filings.
IRS Form 990-T is an annual return used by tax-exempt organizations that receive $1,000 or more of gross income from an unrelated trade or business to report that income and calculate the tax liability.
Form 990-T is filed by any tax-exempt organizations under section 501(a), 529(a), or 529A(a) who receive $1,000 or more of gross income from an unrelated trade or business.
The deadline to file Form 990-T is the 15th day of the 5th month after the close of the organization’s tax year (either calendar or fiscal year). If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, it automatically moves to the next working day.
Yes, you can file for an automatic 6-month extension for Form 990-T by filing Form 8868.
The penalty for filing Form 990-T after the deadline is 5% (capped at 25%) of the unpaid tax for each month/part of a month the form is late.
You can amend or correct Form 990-T even after submission, by refiling another form and checking the Amended Return box.
You will have to pay penalties and interests if you fail to file Form 990-T.
