Tax1099.com integrates with QuickBooks Desktop so users can transfer their data without manually entering vendor and contractor’s payment information.
Intuit is focusing more on developing the cloud-based “QuickBooks Online” and getting rid of the sync manager in QuickBooks Desktop. Don’t worry, you can still eFile your 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms directly from QuickBooks Desktop using Tax1099’s QBD Plugin.
Tax1099.com offers a plugin to connect QuickBooks Desktop to our Tax1099 software. This plugin adds a menu item to the “Company” menu and allows you to import your 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC data.
How To Install The QBD Plugin
First, you need to add the plugin to your QuickBooks Menu.
Steps:
- Select Imports menu in tax1099 > choose option for QuickBooks Desktop
- Follow the instructions in the zip file
- Close all QuickBooks-related programs or files before installing the plugin
- Temporarily disable your antivirus/firewall
- Right-click QuickBooks to run as an administrator
You may need to work with your hosting provider (Cloud 9, Right Networks, InsynQ, NovelASPect, etc.) These hosting providers control the installation process.
The first time you open a company file after the install, QuickBooks will ask you’d like grant access to Tax1099.com. This allows Tax1099.com to access information like taxpayer identification numbers. Once you grant permission, your company’s information will be ready for import.
You’ll be asked to give access to each company’s files, but you’ll only have to go through the process of installing the plugin once.
How To Run The Plugin
Steps:
- Use the 1099 Wizard in QuickBooks Desktop to make sure your data is ready
- Navigate to the Company Menu
- Select “Tax1099QBWPlugin” near the bottom of the menu
- A login window will appear
- Enter your Tax1099.com login info
- Select the tax year
The plugin will identify and review vendors that are 1099-eligible. Then, the plugin will import vendor information to Tax1099.com.
