Easy and Secure way to eFile 1099-MISC Forms
The Combined Federal State Filing (CF/SF) program allows a part of your federal eFile to be transmitted to the state at no extra cost.
Non-participating states must receive a direct file. Federal Form 1099-MISC thresholds may differ from state reporting requirements, so review each state’s filing rules before applying the federal $2,000 threshold for 2026 payments reported in 2027.

This form is for reporting different types of payments such as rent, prizes, or medical bills paid to people or businesses. It helps the government keep track of payments so tax can be calculated correctly.
Payees must receive their copy of Form 1099-MISC by February 1, 2027. Paper filings to the IRS are due by March 1, 2027, while electronic filings are due by March 31, 2027
For 2025 payments reported in 2026, many Form 1099-MISC payments are reportable at $600 or more, while royalties are reportable at $10 or more. For 2026 payments reported in 2027, certain 1099-MISC thresholds increase to $2,000, including rents, medical and health care payments, and certain other income payments. Royalties remain reportable at $10, gross proceeds paid to attorneys remain reportable at $600, fish purchases for resale remain reportable at $600, and backup withholding must be reported even if the payment is below the normal threshold.
If you file within 30 days after the due date, the fine is $60 per form; after 30 days but by August 1, it's $130 per form; and after August 1 or if not filed at all, it's $340 per form. If you purposely ignore filing (intentional disregard), then the fine goes up to $680 or or more per form with no maximum cap.
Form 1099-MISC has three copies: Copy A is sent to the IRS, Copy B is sent to the recipient, and Copy C is retained by the payer for their records.
