To obtain the TIN details from the vendor, you can send out a W-9 Form and validate the TIN with IRS TIN Matching prior to filing.
The IRS assesses late filing penalties on taxpayers when it doesn’t receive the tax files by the prescribed due dates. Currently, the late filing penalty starts at $60 per form and goes up to $340 per form depending on the delay in filing your returns. To prevent being penalized, you can eFile before the deadline.
