10 Reasons to E-file your 1099s
Why should you e-file your 1099s with us instead of using paper? Here are 10 great reasons:

We offer several ways to help you with your compliance efforts while minimizing the time you spend on it. Here are a few ways we can assist:
- No pre-printed forms to purchase. Tired of trying to line your printer up just so? Want box 7 amounts to print in box 7 instead of on the margin of the form you bought at a big-box office supply store? When you create 1099 forms with Tax1099.com, all of your copies are available via pdf to print on plain white paper. Added bonus reason: there is no 1096 to create when you file electronically.
- Simple form view to create 1099s. Are you a small business who just needs to file a handful of forms? Just click New Form on the Dashboard, choose your form, and begin entering your data. Our form view will look familiar if you’ve ever filled out the paper forms. Of course, it’s also easier than paper since you only have to enter your information once and then get to repeat it for each of your vendors.
- Bulk import or integration for larger filers. Do you have a lot of 1099s to file? Use our Excel import or choose from one of our integrations to pull your data from your accounting or bill pay software. You still need to send copies to your vendors by January 31 (or February 2 for 2015), but at least you get to enjoy the thought of the IRS not having to get the info early.
- Create vendor copies now and e-file later. And just so you don’t forget to e-file, we can schedule your e-file for any future date, up to March 31. So create your vendor copies by 2/2/15, select to schedule the e-file for 3/31/15, and let us handle the rest automatically.
- Reduce or eliminate B-Notices with TIN Match. Don’t you hate getting those notices in the Fall to let you know one of your vendor’s (or a lot of your vendors’) Taxpayer ID and name didn’t match? When you get that notice, months after you filed your 1099s, you have to contact the vendor to solicit new data, track the contact, and even begin backup withholding if the vendor doesn’t respond. Use TIN Match to check those TIN and name combinations proactively. Don’t subject yourself to needless IRS penalties.
- Let us mail your forms. Do you avoid the Post Office whenever possible? Don’t like the taste of stamps? We can mail your forms to your vendor for an additional fee (because we have to pay the Post Office, too). Create the forms, select USPS Mail, and we will put them I the next day’s mail.
- Or save paper and let us email your forms. But why mail when you can email? If your vendor has agreed to receive a 1099 electronically, we can send them a secure pdf copy with password protection via email. Save money and paper.
- Bank-grade security. We use 256-bit encryption for all of our data, whether stored or in transit to be stored. While the strength of your password will be a factor in the protection of your data, 256-bit is a high threshold for any hacker to get through.
- Even higher security with two-factor authentication. But you can always add another layer of security with our free two-factor authentication service. With two-factor authentication, you not only need a login ID and password, you also need access to your cell phone to receive a texted code and enter it in the website. So even if someone has your password, you can help prevent entry to your data.
